Lasagna, rice cakes and full list of products you need to bin from Tesco, Dunnes and Supervalu after urgent recalls

Lasagna, rice cakes and chicken goujons are among several items that have been removed from supermarket shelves across the country over the past week due to food safety concerns.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a number of recalls for specific batches of certain products.

Consumers have been urged to check their fridges, freezers and cupboards for the affected items and follow the issued advice on what to do next.

Retailers who stock the impacted products will have point of sale notices posted in their stores and provide shoppers with refunds for returning any affected batches.

Below are all of the current recall notices in effect for several Irish shops:

Baxter and Greene Beef Lasagne

Baxter & Greene Beef Lasagne (FSAI)

Batches of Baxter & Greene Beef Lasagne have been recalled as they may contain allergens that are not declared in the list of ingredients.

This may make the batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of wheat, milk, egg, or celery.

The implicated batches include Baxter & Greene Beef Lasagne; pack sizes: 400g and 800g with all use by dates up to and including 10th November 2022.

Nam Meo Black Fungus Nature’s Best Harvest (FSAI)

Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.

People infected with Salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between 6 and 72 hours.

The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody.

Other symptoms may include fever, headache and abdominal cramps.

The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days. Diarrhoea can occasionally be severe enough to require hospital admission.

The elderly, infants and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness.

Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display recall notices at point of sale.

Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batch.

The implicated batches include those with the best before date: 10/10/2023.
