Large-scale displacement is currently taking place in the northeastern Lebanese city of Baalbek and nearby towns following evacuation orders issued by Israel, as reported by Lebanon’s state-run NNA news agency.
The city’s governor has urged residents to move north and advised against seeking shelter in the ancient citadel due to safety concerns. Governor Bachir Khodr emphasized the importance of heading towards either Arsal or the Northern Governorate via the Ainata-Arz route for their safety.
Israel's directive to evacuate the entire city of Baalbek prompted the displacement of residents from the city and the nearby towns of Douris and Ain Bourday. The affected population is relocating towards the Baalbek-Zahle road and the Baalbek-Deir El Ahmar-Ainata-Arz road in a significant movement northward, according to NNA.
