Large police presence planned as thousands to gather in rally against far-right in London

Police have imposed conditions on a mass demonstration against the far-right set to take place in central London on Saturday, with a significant police presence expected.
Two main marches, one organised by the Together Alliance and another by the Palestine Coalition, will converge, with a joint rally on Whitehall banned from continuing after 5pm.
Concerns were raised about the Palestine Coalition's form-up point being near a synagogue, leading police to set conditions requiring participants to form up half a mile away to reassure the Jewish community.
London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan and Green Party leader Zack Polanski are expected to address the rally, with Polanski emphasising standing against hate.
Alongside the main demonstration, several protests against the Iranian regime are also scheduled in Westminster over the weekend, adding to a busy period for police operations.
