A large presence of emergency services was seen in an area of the city centre yesterday evening (August 23). Police, fire and ambulance were all called to St Augustine's Parade - with emergency vehicles pictured outside the area around the Hippodrome from around 4.30pm.
The ambulance service said it took once patient to the Bristol Royal Infirmary by land ambulance. In a statement, a spokeswoman said: “We were called at 4.20pm on Tuesday, August 23 to an incident in central Bristol.
"We sent a rapid response vehicle, a hazardous area response team and a double-crewed land ambulance. We conveyed one patient to Bristol Royal Infirmary by land ambulance.”

In a statement, Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters were called at 16:31 on August 23 to a public house on St Augustine's Parade, Bristol to assist ambulance services in ensuring the safety of a casualty who had collapsed.
"Our police colleagues were also in attendance."
It is understood the emergency services were in the city centre area for at least an hour, being first seen at around 4.30pm and being still there over an hour later.
One social media user said "ton of emergency services" were gathered in the area.
Another one said that they went past at about 4.40pm and that there were four fire engines, together with four ambulances, at the scene.
“I passed through at about 5:30-5:40 and a police car was speeding towards there," said another.
