Residents in Larbert have hit out at "vile" dog walkers for throwing away their filled poo bags into bushes.
It's after a picture was shared on social media highlighting the problem along Bellsdyke Road, near to the town's golf course.
It is illegal not to pick up or dispose of your dogs waste correctly which could result in a fine up £500.
Falkirk Council say they have launched an investigation into the incidents, with at least 10 small black bags spotted on the ground and hanging from trees.
In a statement the local authority told Falkirk Live: "Leaving your dog poo bag on open ground like this is simply littering.
"If you are caught, you can face a fixed penalty notice for your irresponsible actions.
"We will investigate it further and aim to remove the bags."
However, locals are fuming about the incidents, with one person saying: "Dirty pigs."
Another said: "Why even go to the effort of picking it up if you're just going to throw it? Absolutely vile."
A third commented: "The woods at Larbert Hospital is full of full dog poo bags, totally disgusting."
