Lara Trump Changes Speech After Assassination Attempt On Donald Trump

Donald Trump to testify in New York civil fraud trial

Lara Trump, the co-chair of the Republican National Committee and former president's daughter-in-law, made significant changes to her speech following the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump. During her remarks at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Lara Trump emphasized unity and expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and well-wishes received in the aftermath of the incident.

She also took a moment to acknowledge the tragic loss of Corey Comperatore, who was fatally shot during the attempt on Donald Trump's life. Lara Trump highlighted the resilience and determination exhibited by Donald Trump in the face of adversity, emphasizing the importance of perseverance in challenging times.

Describing the assassination attempt as a 'jarring reminder' of the common values that bind Americans together, Lara Trump stressed the shared desire for a great nation, even amidst differing opinions on the path to achieve that goal. She reiterated Donald Trump's commitment to making America great for all its citizens and proceeded to outline his achievements and platform during his first term in office.

In early March, Lara Trump was elected as co-chair of the Republican National Committee as part of Donald Trump's reorganization of the GOP leadership. She assumed the role alongside new chair Michael Whatley, succeeding Drew McKissick and Ronna McDaniel. The change in leadership came after Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of election fraud claims by the RNC following the 2020 election.
