Fifteen-year-old Matilda Brockley from Langholm will compete for Scotland at the Scottish Schools International Pentathlon in Glasgow at the end of the month.
After being introduced to athletics through primary school sporting events including Sportshall Athletics, Matilda continued to compete for the school whilst also training and competing with Annan and District Athletics Club.
Matilda, who recently received £1,000 and a gold award through the Welcome to Langholm Future Champions Awards continues to train locally and in the borders with respected Scottish Athletics track and field coach Linda Nicholson from Peebles.
