Land yourself a bargain this weekend while raising cash for St Andrew's Hospice

Wishaw shoppers looking for a bargain can pop into one Main Street store this weekend and raise money for charity at the same time.

The St Andrew’s Hospice shop is hosting their annual Christmas event on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a whole host of bargains and top prizes.

St Andrew’s Hospice shop manager Sharon Neill said: “All of our kids toys are brand new and there is a real opportunity to pick up some bargains and stocking fillers in the run-up to Christmas.

“We had previously held our Christmas fair at Ravenscraig but last year we changed it to our store in Wishaw and it seemed to work well.

“We are lucky we have a lot of loyal customers and they support us throughout the year but we are hoping to attract even more people into the store over the next few days.”

This year’s raffle has a whole host of top prizes on offer thanks to generous donations from local businesses.

“The prizes on offer are tremendous,” said Sharon.

“Kello Jewellers have donated an Armani watch while AB Properties have given us £250 worth of prizes.

“There are also cash prizes and other local businesses have got behind us. We couldn’t do it without them.”

All the money raised will go to help support the hospice which offers care and support to patients and their families tailored to meet their individual needs.

Whilst receiving funding from NHS Lanarkshire, this only partially covers the hospice’s running costs.

Hospice volunteer Margaret Beattie added: “This is a major event for the shop and raises money for the local hospice which does a wonderful job here for many families.

“Also it is worth even going to see the wonderful window display which is awesome and produced by our local manager.

“This is a great venture run by the volunteers and provides much needed money for our local hospice.”

You can pop into the Wishaw Main Street store’s Christmas fair on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
