SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the land for construction of the heliport at Palampur in Kangra district has been transferred to the Tourism department and the detailed project report (DPR) in this regard will be ready shortly.
He said that the proposed 82 Kanal land is situated in Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, Palampur which is approximately three kilometers from Palampur city. He said that about Rs 9 crore would be spent for constructing this heliport. He said that the State Government is working to develop Palampur as an IT hub and this heliport will also give new impetus to tourism activities in the Kangra district.
