An independent review has been commissioned into Lancashire Police's handling of Nicola Bulley's disappearance and death.
The mum-of-two went missing on Friday, January 27, before being found in the River Wyre more than three weeks later. During the investigation into the disappearance, police released various details about the 45-year-old mortgage advisor including that she had previously "suffered with some significant issues with alcohol which were brought on by her ongoing struggles with the menopause".
Following the death, it has now been revealed that the College of Policing will now investigate the police force, reviewing three areas. The three areas of focus will be; investigation and search, communication and public engagement, and the releasing of personal information
