Lanarkshire woman credits out of the ordinary 'heavy period' as leading to her cancer diagnosis

A Lanarkshire woman has told how an out of the ordinary 'heavy period' led to her cancer diagnosis.

Victoria Lang, a pharmacist from North Lanarkshire, has credited heavy bleeding and unusual bruising as the symptoms which prompted her to go to her GP, who referred her to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia.

The 30-year-old experienced extremely heavy periods and long-lasting bruises about a month before she was diagnosed at the age of 29, the Daily Record reports.
