Drivers filling up at five Lanarkshire petrol stations are to receive a voucher for £5 off a £40 shop in a new trial scheme running until July 15.
Asda is offering the shopping discount to customers at 30 trial locations who are buying at least £5 of fuel.
The supermarket’s petrol stations at Coatbridge, Blantyre, Cumbernauld, Larkhall and Newmains are among nine locations in Scotland taking part in the promotion.
A statement from Asda said: “We are trialling the voucher to help support customers with the rising cost of living.
“Recent Asda research showed that 58 per cent of customers are doing fewer, larger shops to save on fuel and 51 per cent are combining grocery shopping with other errands to keep driving costs down.”
Vouchers must be redeemed by July 31, by showing the fuel receipt to checkout staff at the local stores.
