Lanarkshire sea shanty singer Nathan Evans expecting a baby with his wife Holly

Lanarkshire sea shanty singing sensation Nathan Evans has received the best early Christmas present of all by announcing he's expecting a child with his wife Holly.

The couple shared their happy news on Instagram as they donned matching festive pyjamas holding a onesie that read "Baby Evans".

The Airdrie born singer - who is best known for his viral sensation song Wellerman - wrote: "New addition to the Evans family coming May 2023!" followed by a blue heart.

The musician and his wife couldn't leave their dog out of the announcement post too, writing: "Swipe right for a doggo disaster," including snaps of their adorable Labrador.

Friends of the couple soon flooded the comments of the stars post congratulating him and Holly.

Scots Love Island winner Paige Turley wrote: "Awww how lovely!! Congratulations guys!"

TikTok sensation Littlest Chicken commented: "WOW! CONGRATS" Al Jukes from Scots duo SAINT PNHX penned: "Congratulations guys! Going to make amazing parents! X"

Edinburgh singer-songwriter Calum Bowie said: "Congrats!!," alongside a partying emoji.

Fans also wished the soon-to-be father well, with one commenting: "that’s amazing news guys! wish you all the best!"

Another said: "Congrats Nath and you will be a good dad."

A third agreed: "Congrats to you both troops, buzzing for yous!"
