A Lanarkshire running club are set to hold a charity run in memory of a popular doctor who passed away last year.
Dr Cat Gaskell died last August aged just 26.
The Cambuslang woman was a member of the area's Newton Road Runners group.
Members of the group - shocked at Cat's sudden death - organised a charity run last year with proceeds split between the MacMillan cancer charity and mental health charities.
Now runners at the club are planning a November 10K that will be named after Cat, with the run starting at Westburn Hall and following the Clyde path.
A 3k will also be held so that all abilities can take part and held to honour Dr Gaskill's memory.
Club president Joanne Thorburn told Lanarkshire Live : "Cat had joined us in March and right from the start she was totally involved in the club and making friends.
"She was very popular and seemed the happiest person so we were absolutely shocked when the news broke. We wanted to do something last year but as the emotions were very raw it was low key, just among the club and the running community that came together to support it.
"Cat had hoped to do the London marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support so we raised £1500 for Macmillan and mental health charities as well.
"It was so successful that we thought we could do it again this year, but make it more formal and through the proper processes."
The event will be held on Saturday November 12 at noon, with a raffle following at the Newton Arms afterwards.
Money raised will cover the club's costs and then be donated to mental health groups.
Ms Gaskell worked at the Hunter health centre in East Kilbride.
Joanne added: "We have spoken to her parents and they are touched that we're doing this.
"We want it to be about charity and felt this would be a good way to keep her name and memory alive.
"Cat was so bubbly and chatty and was involved so quickly within the club - as a doctor we'd always ask her advice on our aches and pains!"
