A Lanarkshire pub has been destroyed in a late-night blaze.
Emergency services raced to the scene of the Dug 'n' Duck on Cumbernauld Road, Stepps, shortly after 11.30pm on Wednesday (November 9).
Four appliances from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), sped to the fierce blaze with one appliance still in attendance at the scene throughout the day on Thursday.
Police Scotland locked down a section of the road, as well as nearby Avenue End Road, as firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the inferno under control.
In a statement posted to Facebook, a representative from Dug 'n' Duck wrote: "The pub will be closed until further notice due to a fire.
"Thankfully no one was hurt. Sorry, we will not be answering messages just now. We will inform you of new developments when more information is available."
It is understood some money has been spent on the pub over the last few years, and that they had a full line up of Christmas events and bookings taken for the festive season.
They also recently held a busy Hallowe'en party night, with dozens of revellers attending.
Band, Jam at the Inn, who perform at the pub weekly, were saddened to hear about the fire.
They posted online: "Really sorry to hear about the fire in The Dug 'n' Duck last night, we always look forward to our Thursdays in there.
"Our thoughts are with Ian and all the staff members at this time and hope things can get back to normal as soon as possible."
A spokeswoman for SFRS told Lanarkshire Live : "We were alerted at 11.36pm on Wednesday to reports of a fire within the pub.
"We sent four fire appliances to the scene. There are currently no reported casualties and one fire appliance remains in attendance whilst crews work to make the area safe.”
Police Scotland has also been approached for comment.
