Lanarkshire pensioner who died after being hit by lorry named as police appeal for witnesses

A pensioner who died after being hit by an articulated lorry on a Lanark road has been named.

83-year-old pedestrian Giuseppe Molinaro, from Carluke, was struck by the vehicle on A743 High Street in the town at around 2.50pm on Monday (July 3). Emergency services attended but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes lorry was uninjured.
