A pensioner has died after being hit by a lorry in Lanarkshire this afternoon. The 83-year-old man was involved in a fatal crash which took place just before 3pm on Monday July 3.
Emergency services raced to High Street, Lanark, following reports of a crash involving a lorry and a pedestrian. Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland says enquiries into the fatality are ongoing.
The area was cordoned off while emergency services were at the scene earlier today. The road has partially re-opened with some diversions still in place.

A police spokesperson said: "Around 2.50pm on Monday, 3 July, officers received a report of a crash involving a lorry and pedestrian on High Street, Lanark.
"Emergency services attended, and an 83-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The road has partially re-opened, with some diversions in place, and enquiries remain ongoing."
