Lanarkshire family light up the skies with early festive holiday display

One Lanarkshire family are well and truly in the Christmas spirit already it would seem, having decorated the outside of their home with full festive spangle.

It may only be the start of November, but if the Christmas ads are on the tele then the lights are up in Heathcliffe Avenue, Blantyre.

For Michelle Campaigne and her two grown-up daughters - Emma and Lauren - have once again delighted the community with their early Noel display.

The family officially lit up their garden last weekend with over 40 festive ornaments – just days after taking down their Halloween house of horrors decorations.

Mum Michelle told Lanarkshire Live : “It is well known now that myself, Emma and Lauren love decorating our house and garden for each of the holidays.

"In fact once one holiday is over we start planning the next and we just thought why not get the Christmas decorations up already and help get the local community in the festive spirit in the midst of what has been another awful year thanks to the cost of living crisis."

Michelle, Emma and Lauren, who budgeted all year to cover the electrical costs this winter, work together to come up with their holiday displays and relish watching people from across the county stop by on foot and in their cars to see their garden.

Michelle added: “If I’m completely honest, we do it just as much for ourselves as we do for the community and children as Christmas is my absolute favourite time of the year, so I love decorating for that.

“The kids around here love the displays and every night cars come by and stop for a look and to take pictures.

“It’s just lovely to watch so many people get so much joy."

Michelle joked: "And who said November was too early for Christmas anyway?

"If the adverts are on the television and festive music is being played then my house is being lit up in celebration of this wonderful time of the year."
