A Lanarkshire woman with a life-long passion for dance has ticked a huge achievement off her bucket list.
For Emma Sheen has opened her own studio in the centre of her hometown.
Emma's Dance Academy launched earlier this year and has already witnessed amazing success, with almost 70 enthusiastic youngsters attending classes every week.
Emma has a passion for dancing, having danced all her life and even studied it at college.
The 23-year-old had dreamed of opening a studio in Newmains for some time.
Emma told Lanarkshire Live: "I love dancing and everyone in the community knows me as Emma the dancer.
"I've always wanted a studio of my own and when this opportunity came up it was perfect.
"I quit my job in the hospital last November and I had the studio ready and opened in January.
"I still have a job as a dance teacher working for Glasgow City Council but to have my own space and studio is a dream come true.
"There was lots of work to be done as this was an old bed shop, there were beds left behind and it was all painted white.
"My family and friends were a great help to me with helping get the studio ready. It looks amazing now and is the way I want it to be."
Emma offers a number of dance styles and classes, catering to every need.
As well as offering boys and girls classes, she also offers ASN-only classes. This is something close to her heart as her aunt has Down's syndrome.
"The response to the classes has been really great so far, it's been amazing.
"People have loved coming to join in with the dancing and just at the induction, I had 40 kids turn up.
"There are now 70 kids coming to the classes every week and even more new faces are always showing up.
"We do lots of different types of dance including contemporary, hip hop, disco and jazz.
"The ASN classes have been great too. It is something different and I think people appreciate it."
Emma is always on the lookout for new members and is aiming to book big shows in the future.
