A Lanarkshire college's Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics event inspired the next generation.
The Step into STEM event, which had taken a two-year sabbatical due to COVID, returned to East Kilbride-based South Lanarkshire College (SLC).
The event, which was arranged in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire, took place earlier this month, saw S1 and S2 pupils from across South Lanarkshire spend a day learning about STEM-based subjects.
Pupils from schools in the area including Calderglen, Duncanrig, Rutherglen High and Stonelaw were treated to workshops in Da Vinci bridge building, digital photography, horticulture, CPR and much more.
SLC depute associate principal, Wilma Macleod, told Lanarkshire Live: "The Step into STEM event has been designed in conjunction with our partners and DYW Lanarkshire to inspire pupils to think creatively and solve problems.
"This is the fourth time the event has been held in the college and the young people are always thrilled to come along and see our campus and experience workshops in the STEM subjects we offer.
"STEM subjects serve as the fertile ground from which future technical workers and industry leaders will be nurtured and they provide the intellectual foundations and tools for future scientists, inventors and engineers.
"We are delighted to host the event and look forward to another successful year when we run the event again."
Rose Coyle from DYW added: "This has been another great collaboration with SLC, working in partnership to raise awareness of STEM within industry to bring the curriculum to life for our young people.
"This would not be possible without the great partnership working with the college our ambassador employers who are always willing to support and raise awareness of their individual sectors and show how a career pathway is achievable for everyone.
"It was good to see the pupils out and interacting with all the activities available both in the college workshops and all the great interactive STEM activities the employers supplied."
