Lanarkshire charity shop on lookout for new volunteers

A charity shop in Wishaw has launched a desperate plea for new volunteers.

The Salvation Army have said they need a range of volunteers in-store to help them to continue to run the store.

The charity shops were established in 1991 to help fund The Salvation Army’s vital work with vulnerable people in the UK.

Since forming, the shops have been able to donate millions of pounds over the years to worthwhile causes across the UK.

Paula Jones is the manager of both the Motherwell and Wishaw branches.

She told Lanarkshire Live : "Volunteers are urgently needed for our Wishaw shop and this is an excellent opportunity for job training and self-confidence.

"There is a range of positions available in the shop that would require you to give up a few hours of your week.

"These include sales assistants, social media volunteers, and sort room assistants.

"We also have other roles like our media volunteer role, who will help organise, look after and price our entertainment sections.

"All roles come with benefits that include a 25% discount on all products in-store and reward and recognition programmes."

For more information about the opportunities, you can contact Paula at the Wishaw store on 01698 355823.
