Lanarkshire carer struck off for string of 'abusive and neglectful' incidents

A Lanarkshire carer has been struck off after causing "physical, emotional and psychological harm" to vulnerable residents under her care.

Mandy Brown was employed as a care assistant at Methodist Homes at Bankhouse, Lanark and between January 2020 and July 2021 was found to have mistreated residents on a number of occasion.

Between February and April 2021, Ms Brown was found to have failed to give one resident his food and told a colleague "don’t give him that, he’s been fed", shouting at the same resident "get up, stand up" and dragging him along the corridor back to his food. Ms Brown also told a colleague that was resident was "done" despite knowing he had not received any personal care.
