The 16 years and over age group swimmers also enjoyed success. Lesmahagow High’s Millie McArthur won 3 titles; 100m backstroke and 100m and 200m freestyle.

Ross Carswell (Carluke High) won the 200m IM and was second in the 100m butterfly.

Benji Jones, also from Carluke, won both the 100m and 200m breaststroke and was third in the 100m freestyle.

The Biggar High School duo of Euan McLeod and Ian Henderson were also among the medals. Euan won the 100m butterfly and freestyle and was second in the 200m freestyle. Ian was second in the 200m breaststroke.

Lanark ASC coach Karen Kelly said: “Our swimmers were a credit to their schools.

“Emily is now the fastest ever 10-year-old in the history of the club over 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle.

“The medal success by our swimmers was over the four strokes and IM, which was very pleasing. The schools should be proud of their pupils.”
