David Lammy is set to meet the Iranian minister for crisis talks in Geneva as the UK presses for a diplomatic solution to the Israel-Iran conflict after Donald Trump hinted the US could join the fighting.

The foreign secretary will travel to the Swiss city on Friday to meet with Abbas Araghchi alongside his counterparts from France, Germany and the EU.
