The Boston Celtics signed reserve forward Lamar Stevens to a training camp contract after he started 25 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers one season ago. The deal gives him no guarantees for the season ahead, but CLNS Media reporter Bobby Manning’s interview with Stevens and his trainer Henry Woo Jr. revealed that both are confident in Stevens making Boston’s roster for the storied ball club’s 2023-24 campaign and a run at Banner 18.
Manning and Stevens also talked about his summer workouts in front of famed Canadian rapper and former actor Drake, guarding NBA stars like Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant, and Stevens’ shooting form compared to seasons past.
The new Celtics forward has a real shot at having an impact on a contending ball club with his gritty, high-intensity style of play — particularly if that jumper starts to fall.
