Lakshya Sen in All England semifinal by beating for champion Lee

Birmingham: Despite facing a tough opponent in the 10th-ranked Malaysian, Lakshya Sen managed to secure a thrilling come-from-behind victory with scores of 20-22, 21-16, 21-19 in the All England Open quarterfinals against former champion Lee Zii Jia showcased his resilience and skill on the badminton court.

The match, which lasted an hour and 10 minutes, kept spectators on the edge of their seats as Sen demonstrated his determination and talent to advance in the tournament.

This victory not only secured his berth in the men's singles semifinals but also improved his head-to-head record against the world No.10 to 4-1.

Sen's journey in the tournament has been marked by significant achievements, particularly given his recent struggles on the BWF World Tour.

Despite facing seven first-round exits in previous tournaments, he showcased his potential by reaching the semifinals of the French Open the preceding week. This momentum carried forward as he defeated top-ranked players like Anders Antonsen and Lee Zii Jia in Birmingham.

The intense quarterfinal clash against Lee Zii Jia was a testament to Sen's resilience and determination, as he maintained his focus and composure throughout the match, especially during crucial moments in the deciding game.

Despite facing a challenging comeback attempt from Lee towards the end, Sen remained composed and secured victory with two decisive points.

Sen's next challenge will be against the winner of the quarterfinal match between Chinese second seed Shi Yu Qi and Indonesian Jonatan Christie.

This continued success on the court reflects Sen's growing prowess in the world of badminton and highlights his potential to emerge as a formidable contender in future tournaments. UNI
