This will be the first contest of a challenging four-game road trip for the Lakers. They had won six out of seven going into Wednesday’s game at home against the Dallas Mavericks, but they fell behind big, and their late comeback attempt ultimately fell short, dropping their record to 9-7.

While forward Jarred Vanderbilt and guard Gabe Vincent, arguably their two best perimeter defenders, continue to be out, they will also be without Rui Hachimura. Los Angeles also could be without Cam Reddish, who had played well in seven straight starts until being pulled from action this week due to groin soreness.
The Cavaliers are looking to build upon their success last season, when they finished fourth in the Eastern Conference. But they’re currently just 8-7, which puts them in eighth place in the East.
