On Dec. 15, players NBA teams signed during the offseason can be traded, and as that date approaches, trade rumors are starting to warm up.
Of course, the Los Angeles Lakers have been active in canvassing the trade market for almost a calendar year, as there is a great sense of urgency to maximize LeBron James’ final productive years.
One player the Lakers are reportedly interested in is a familiar one: Kyle Kuzma.

“Another team to monitor would be the Lakers, knowing Kuzma has championship experience playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis,” wrote Eric Pincus. “Giving up a first to both part and reunite with Kuzma would fit the Lakers’ track record.”
When Kuzma was in L.A., he wasn’t the most natural fit, as he is a player who somewhat needs the ball in his hands to be effective offensively. In addition, some fans were frustrated at his slow growth as a player and how active he was on Instagram.
However, the 6-foot-9 forward did show some meaningful improvement in his defense and rebounding during his four seasons with the Lakers.
He is having a career season with the Washington Wizards, averaging 21.4 points on 46.2% shooting, both of which are career highs, while adding 7.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
Kuzma wouldn’t help the Lakers’ 3-point shooting woes, but he would give them a productive and reliable big forward who knows how to play with their two superstars.
