Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will be a captain for the 2022 NBA All-Star game in Cleveland.
NBA on TNT revealed the starters for each time prior to the game between the Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers, and James is also a starter for the Western Conference.
James got the nod for captain because he had the most fan votes. The last batch tallied last week revealed James had taken Stephen Curry’s No. 1 spot with 6.8 million votes. This marks 18 straight All-Star appearances for LeBron.
Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is the other captain, though he’s not expected to play in the game due to an MCL sprain.
The other Western Conference starters: Curry, Ja Morant, Andrew Wiggins and Nikola Jokic.
Along with Durant in the East: Trae Young, DeMar DeRozan, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid.
The All-Star game is slated for Sunday, Feb. 20.
