Los Angeles Lakers forward Christian Wood is set to undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee, leading to an expected absence from the court for several weeks, as per sources familiar with the situation. Wood has been out of action for over a month due to swelling in his knee that arose during the All-Star break.
The 28-year-old player joined the Lakers on a one-year, veteran minimum contract during the offseason. Throughout this season, he has contributed an average of 6.9 points on 46.6% shooting (with a 3-point percentage of 30.7%) and 5.1 rebounds in the 50 games he has played.
As of now, the Lakers hold the 10th seed in the competitive Western Conference with just 14 games left in the regular season. Their final game of the regular season is scheduled for April 14th.
