Lakers coach Darvin Ham has never been one to sugarcoat things. And that’s why his comments about facing the Bucks with new star duo Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard weren’t all that surprising — but they were brutally honest.
Ham spoke on the challenge of facing two players of this caliber together, and could only wish the rest of the NBA "good luck," as Sportsnaut’s Mark Medina detailed.
"Best of luck to everyone else, the other 28 teams besides ourselves that have to figure out how to stop that. I’m just happy we only have to see them twice in the regular season,” Ham said of Giannis and Lillard, per Medina.
Although it was only a preseason game, the Bucks defeated the Lakers 108–97 on Sunday night, with Antetokounmpo and Lillard finishing as two of the top three scorers. Antetokounmpo wrapped up the night with 16 points and eight rebounds, tied with Anthony Davis as the leading scorer in this game. Lillard was third in scoring with 14 points while tacking on four steals and three assists.
