- The pilot and copilot of the Air Canada plane were killed in the collision.
- Approximately 40 passengers and crew members were taken to nearby hospitals, with some sustaining serious injuries.
- A flight attendant was found alive on the ground by rescuers, still strapped to her seat which had fallen through a hole in the plane's floor, with reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.
