As a volunteer recruit, the LSAR will provide you with excellent training opportunities in a range of skills and specialisms.
In a post on social media highlighting the volunteer opportunities, the LSAR said: "Our crew is made up of dedicated volunteers from the local community, responding to emergencies 24 hours a day.
"This is your chance to join our team and help save lives. The dynamic and fast paced environment helps grow potential and foster ability. Through regular sessions, LSAR provides all recruits with excellent training opportunities in a range of skills and specialisms. Are you ready for the challenge?"
One current volunteer for the group said they've benefited from expanding their skills in specialist areas. They said: "Being a volunteer with LSAR has provided new opportunities to get involved with the local community whilst being part of a motivated team. I’ve had the chance to take part in various events across the country as well as earn qualifications in specialist areas.”
Another volunteer added: “Armchair activism is easy, but how willing are you to dedicate your time contributing to solutions? People who volunteer with Lagan Search and Rescue are turning their values into action.
"The benefits of volunteering are felt both by our volunteers and the communities in which they work. One of the greatest benefits of volunteering is how much you will grow as an individual. You’ll learn more about yourself, your passions, and potentially find a future career path."
