A ladder attached to a van smashed through the window of a school bus carrying over 60 pupils during a crash on Friday.
Police have launched a probe after the incident on the B994 in Kemnay, near Inverurie in Aberdeenshire, at around 8.15am on Friday. It's understood the van was in the opposite lane of the road before a ladder on top came loose and hit the school bus, which was believed to be carrying over the children to Kemnay Academy.
The bus driver suffered minor cuts from broken glass and one child was taken to hospital for a possible concussion. Other pupils on board were said to be suffering from 'shock and cold'.
A Police Spokesperson said: "We received a report on Friday, November 4, of a crash involving a bus and a van on the B994 near Kemnay that happened around 8.15am.
“The bus driver sustained a minor injury but did not need medical treatment. There were no other reported injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information, including dash-cam, that could help, is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0636 of Friday, November 4.”
An Aberdeenshire Council spokesperson told the BBC : "The bus driver sustained cuts but is otherwise well and has been commended for his swift action and for caring for the pupils.
"All on board were checked for injuries at the school and some were suffering from shock and cold.
"There was concern for one pupil regarding a possible concussion and they were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a precaution."
