LadBaby and LadBaby Mum rewarded McDonald’s fans with thousands of free points and exclusive merch as they took over the Drive-Thru for the day for the launch of MyMcDonald’s Rewards, the brand’s first ever rewards scheme. McDonald’s teamed up with TV presenter Rylan to lead the ultimate ‘Rewards Squad’ featuring a star-studded cast of celebrities who embarked on a tour of the UK and brought a series of surprising moments to customers across the nation.
The tour kicked off with an exclusive gig by superstar grime artist Aitch, and then the Rewards Squad headed out with LadBaby and LadBaby Mum who were both on hand to surprise McDonald’s customers. The pair jumped in the Drive-Thru to hand out limited-edition McDonald’s merch including bucket hats, cross body bags and branded water bottles, and gave out thousands of points to fans, allowing them to kickstart their Rewards experience.
The pair headed over to Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham, where they met with staff and families at the largest purpose-built accommodation facility at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Ronald McDonald House Charities provide free ‘home away from home’ accommodation, giving families the chance to remain close to their child whilst they are in hospital. McDonald’s recently celebrated raising over £100m for the charity since 1989, helping accommodate more than 60,000 families. The MyMcDonald’s Rewards scheme is another way customer donations can continue to make a difference.
LadBaby said: “Rox and I have had a great day surprising fans in Birmingham! Taking over the Drive-Thru was a blast, we loved surprising people with free Rewards points and some amazing merch! As people may know, Rox and I love to get involved in charity work where we can, so being able to visit Ronald McDonald House Birmingham was a real highlight – it’s great to see the work they’re doing for families with the launch of MyMcDonald’s Rewards. People can use their points to donate money to Ronald McDonald House Charities as well as McDonald’s other brilliant charity partners.”
Dean Chapman, McDonald’s Franchisee manager said: “I am pleased MyMcDonald’s Rewards has launched in Birmingham and I know our customers will love earning and enjoying rewards on some of their favourite menu items. It was great to have LadBaby and LadBaby Mum here to help us with the launch at my Bristol Road restaurant in Birmingham.
“It’s great that our customers can choose to donate their points to one of our amazing charity partners; enabling our customers to give back to the communities we serve is so important and we know many local families will benefit from the points donated across this region.”
As part of the tour, McDonald’s has given away a massive 5 million Rewards points to customers, crew and their charity partners including BBC Children in Need, FareShare and Ronald McDonald House Charities. At every location, customers were delighted by the Rewards Squad with points that they can add to their MyMcDonald’s Rewards account on the McDonald’s App and redeem against their favourite menu items or convert to a cash equivalent charity donation.
