Labour has overwhelmingly won Scotland’s first ever recall byelection, with the party’s Michael Shanks winning the Rutherglen and Hamilton West seat from the SNP.
Mr Shanks was declared the new MP for the area after defeating the SNP’s Katy Loudon by 17,845 votes to 8,399.
