Labour frontbencher suspended after behaviour complaint

A LABOUR frontbencher has been suspended after the party received a complaint about his behaviour.

Bambos Charalambous, the party's shadow foreign minister, has lost the whip and will sit in the House of Commons as an independent after being "administratively suspended".

Charalambous said he is "aware there is an allegation that requires investigation by the Labour Party", adding it was "right and proper" the process is allowed to take place.

"It is not appropriate to say anything further at this time," he said.

According to The Guardian, the complaint had been submitted to Labour's independent complaints process.
