Labor pollies stand by $4m worth of 'pork-barrelling' grants in ACT federal seats

Federal ACT Labor politicians are standing by $4 million worth of "invite-only" grants delivering election pledges in the territory, amid calls for a more transparent process for funding community and sports projects.

Canberra MP Alicia Payne told The Canberra Times she was "very proud" of a $1.6 million upgrade to the Lyneham hockey centre in her electorate, the first of three ACT projects to receive funds through the controversial scheme.
