La Sultana, Marrakech: five riads in one, with the largest roof terrace in the medina

Take a brief stroll through La Sultana and you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d strayed into several hotels by mistake. Within the space of a few steps you’ll find everything from North African-style chambers named after elephants and featuring dark wooden carvings to sun-dappled marble staircases looking down on glistening turquoise splash pools.

But this is the magic of a stay at La Sultana’s luxe Marrakech outpost. The boutique hotel sits in the heart of the Marrakech medina within the old city walls and is made up of five adjoining riads (traditional Moroccan houses with a central patio), each one boasting its own unique character, whether you’re looking for a romantic riad-room tucked away off a courtyard to a spacious lion-themed suite with your own living room and private terrace.
