Yunus Musah will come up against England and former teammate Bukayo Saka this evening as USA look to earn their first victory of the World Cup. The Valencia midfielder played with the Arsenal forward at youth level during his time at Hale End before making the switch to Spain in 2019.
Musah, 19, joined the Gunners at the age of nine in 2012 after moving from Italy. The New York-born midfielder progressed through the youth teams at Hale End before making 18 appearances for the Under-18s alongside the likes of Saka, Charlie Patino and Folarin Balogun.
However, Musah joined Valencia and opted to represent the US national team over the Three Lions. It's a decision that has been rewarded since the switch as Musah finds himself playing a key role Gregg Berhalter's side in Qatar. His performances in Spain over the previous 16 months have warranted interest from the Gunners, Liverpool and Juventus.

That's according to the Daily Mail and interest from other European clubs could intensify over the course of the World Cup with the American's aggressive pressing style of play. However, the Gunners have been handed a huge hint in the player's preference over his future in an interview with CBS Sports.
With a believed €100million (£87million) release clause attached to his current deal, Musah was asked whether he would consider a return to the Emirates Stadium. "You never know," he said. "I had a great time at Arsenal developing there, I still have friends there, the coaches were great, being an Arsenal player, in general, is great.
"I loved playing for Arsenal. I’ve nothing against the club and if one day it turns out to be that it’s time to go back then it’s possible.
"For now I’m really happy at Valencia and I’m looking forward to carrying this season on in the same way we’re doing now."
