La Liga president hints at move for Man City's Bernardo Silva despite Barcelona financial issues

La Liga president Javier Tebas has hinted that Bernardo Silva could still join Barcelona from Manchester City despite Barca's financial struggles.

The El Clasico club's financial issues have been well documented, especially after they signed Sergio Aguero from the Blues but struggled to register him. High player wages have led to some of the club's biggest stars, like Lionel Messi, leaving the club because the Catalan side could not afford to keep them.

Despite all of this, Tebas believes that Barcelona could still swoop for Silva and Robert Lewandowski without hindering their financial status further. "If Barcelona manages to activate the economic levers, they will be able to sign Lewandowski, Bernardo Silva and some others too," Tebas said (via Barca Universal ).

"They are approved by the Assembly and now they have to execute them, get a fund that it seems they can get with the TV rights and the sale of BLM. They know the numbers and if the levers produce that capacity, there can be those signings and some more."

Tebas' comments come weeks after the La Liga chief made the outlandish accusation that City 'must have' broken rules in order to sign Erling Haaland. He would end up going one step further by making a formal complaint about the Blues to UEFA.
