L'Oréal revealed two light-based beauty devices at CES 2026 that promise to transform haircare and skincare. The Light Straight + Multi-styler uses infrared technology to straighten hair at lower temperatures than traditional tools, while the LED Face Mask targets signs of aging with light therapy.
Both products earned CES 2026 Innovation Awards and won't launch until 2027. Here's what these new devices do and when you'll be able to buy them.

Lower temp, healthier hair
Traditional hair straighteners operate at 400°F or higher, temperatures that damage keratin, reduce shine, and weaken hair. L'Oréal's Light Straight + Multi-styler uses patented infrared light technology to straighten hair while never exceeding 320°F.
The device uses near-infrared light to reshape hydrogen bonds inside hair fibers — the molecular structures that determine hair's shape. This changes hair's form without extreme heat, keeping the cuticle smoother and stronger.
According to L'Oréal's tests, the device works three times faster and leaves hair twice as smooth as leading premium straighteners.
It also includes smart sensors with built-in algorithms and machine learning that adapt to how you move it through your hair. The device adjusts its performance based on your styling technique and learns from your usage patterns over time.
This is different from standard straighteners that apply the same heat regardless of hair type or how you're using them.
LED Face Mask delivers targeted light therapy
L'Oréal's LED Face Mask is an ultra-thin, flexible silicone mask that delivers light therapy directly to the skin. Currently in prototype form, the mask uses red light and near-infrared light to combat fine lines, sagging, and uneven skin tone. The flexible silicone design conforms to facial contours, evenly distributing light across all areas.
This is different from most at-home LED devices, which are rigid panels that require you to sit still in front of them. The red light works on the skin's surface while near-infrared light penetrates deeper into tissue.
Together, the dual wavelengths visibly firm and smooth skin while evening tone, targeting multiple aging concerns at once.
Both devices launch in 2027, pricing TBA
The Light Straight + Multi-styler launches globally in 2027, though L'Oréal hasn't announced pricing yet. The LED Face Mask also launches in 2027. Additional details, including pricing, will be made available on loreal.com.
