Kyogo in awe of Celtic VIP treatment as hitman gets green and white carpet welcome on Japanese TV

Kyogo couldn't believe how the green and white carpet was rolled out for him on his return to Japan.

The Celtic hitman has been in action for the Samurai Blue in recent weeks as he prepares to welcome his Parkhead teammates to the Far East next month when fans will get a peek at Brendan Rodgers' new look side. The Scottish champions will face Ange Postecoglou's old side Yokohama Marinos and J-League outfit Gamba Osaka. Kyogo has joined Lennoxtown pals Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda in action for their country, and even took in training with old side Vissel Kobe alongside current Hoops man Yuki Kobayashi.

The 28-year-old's homecoming tour has also seen him the subject of interviews, with one primetime HST Sports slot seeing the striker show off a signed Celtic shirt emblazoned with his name and number. A clip shows Kyogo handing the shirt to the delighted presenter who repeats the words "Celtic, Celtic" before pointing out a key detail of the studio that the Hoops forward didn't seem to notice.

The carpet of the set is designed in the green and white hoops, as the presenter points to the floor and tells the striker: "Look, Celtic colours". It does take the usually-rapid hitman a moment to realise before he bows and gives his thanks. The caption of the tweet does read: "Couldn't tell on broadcast."

Kyogo then raises his arms in celebration and looks delighted with the discovery. The pair thank each other again before ending the interview. It's not the first time he has been in front of the cameras, as an all-access documentary last year gave an insight in to the player's life in Glasgow.

The fly-on-the-wall show did capture the heartbreaking moment the striker realises he hasn't been picked for the Qatar World Cup as only Maeda made it to the finals in Hajime Moriyasu's side.
