Barry Ferguson admits he can't see Kyogo being a good fit for Tottenham Hotspur due to the 'world class' talent already at Ange Postecoglou's disposal.
Reports suggest the Aussie could raid his former Celtic side for the Japanese hitman, whose 30-plus goals across all competitions eased the Hoops towards a domestic Treble before Postecoglou bowed out for North London. The 28-year-old is one of a handful of current Parkhead stars now being touted for the big move to the Premier League, with Postecoglou potentially facing a mass exodus in the summer.
The Record Sport columnist, however, has raised one caveat of a potential move to Spurs as the striker also reportedly has interest from Vincent Kompany and Burnley. Ferguson reckons the talent of world-beaters Harry Kane and Heung-min Son means Kyogo would find a transition to the heights of the Premier League a tough one, but the former Ibrox captain is weighing up what the new Brendan Rodgers era will mean for the ins and outs in the east end of Glasgow.
Speaking on Go Radio, Ferguson said: "I couldn't see Kyogo playing at Tottenham. They are world class, the Harry Kanes and Sons of this world. Don't get me wrong, he has been brilliant for Celtic, there's no doubt about it.
"His work-rate, attitude. It will be interesting to see who stays and who goes under Brendan Rodgers and what sort of budget he'll have. I don't imagine he would have come up to Scotland without a budget to operate on."
