Kyogo dares to dream of Celtic treble but says 'you never know what will happen'

Kyogo Furuhashi believes Celtic can deliver the treble – but only if they keep their foot on the gas.

The Japanese striker struck a double as the Premiership leaders defeated Rangers 3-2 to establish a 12-point advantage at the top of the table. Ange Postecoglou’s team now have seven games to navigate in seeing a second consecutive league title over the line, and will also meet their Ibrox rivals again in a monumental Scottish Cup semi-final.

And while the forward says Celtic will not take anything for granted, he reckons that just ‘maybe’ they can began to dream of completing a clean sweep.

“There are still games left to play and you never know what is going to happen,” Kyogo said. “I think every game is important. With each game we are developing as a team but there are still aspects we can improve on.

“It’s important to stay focused. Beyond that we will maybe have the treble.”

Kyogo dedicated a derby double – his 27th and 28th goals of the season - to the Celtic fans and believes a raucous atmosphere spurred his team on to victory. The 28-year-old has now scored five times in his last three derbies, and says he feeds off that energy from the stands.

“It was a terrific game but as a team we were united with the supporters and that’s why we could win,” Kyogo said. “Everyone is supporting me and that’s why I could score. I really enjoy that.

“In every game we play to see the smiles on the fans’ faces. Personally, I try hard every game to make sure this happens.

“I really feel like the supporters are supporting me from the heart and so I want to give them something back. I have always felt that love from the supporters.”
