Kym Marsh is said to be “saddened” by her reported split from husband Scott Ratcliff after just 19 months of marriage.
The former Coronation Street star, 46, and soldier Scott, 34, wed in October 2021 at a star-studded bash.
Scott is Kym's third husband after she previously tied the knot with actor Jack Ryder in 2002 and former Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas ten years later.
But after just over a year-and-a-half, as the actress and the Army major are reported to have split for good.
After she was spotted without her wedding ring this weekend, a source has explained the reasons behind the Coronation Street actress’ split.
An insider told OK! Magazine : “Kym and Scott are both saddened by the split. Unfortunately, distance and career paths led to the breakdown.”
Their break-up is said to have been amicable as they reportedly had a “trial split” just after their first anniversary.
“Friends thought it was just a glitch and they would get back together but it just hasn’t resolved itself,” said the source.
Despite them both “really trying” to make their marriage work, the source claimed their busy work commitments have been a big problem for them as they were reported to have only been seeing each other for one or two days a week at most.
The source continued: “Scott is a lovely bloke and Kym hopes they will remain friends. He has his career down in Essex. Kym has her family, career and life up North and sadly nothing can change for either of them.”
The pair, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Sandhurst military academy in October 2021, will reportedly go their separate was as Kym embarks on a seven-month countrywide tour in the lead role of Rachel Lumberg in Take That musical Greatest Days.
Meanwhile, Scott who serves with the Parachute Regiment, is understood to continue to be based in his barracks in the south of England.

She is yet another Strictly contestant who became single after appearing on the BBC dance competition.
Strictly is linked to the infamous curse which saw a string of stars' and dancers' off-screen relationships breakdown over the past 19 years.
Many relationships ended because of the curse but many also blossomed as a result of the tight schedules and sexy dance moves.
However, Kym's ex Scott supposedly paid no mind to the curse that many people worry about.
Kym, who was recently partnered up with Graziano di Prima, said in October: "I know everyone talks about it but Scott really couldn’t care less.
"I’m an actor and he came and watched me on Fatal Attraction where I took my clothes off on stage, which was pretty daunting."
