Kym Marsh was reduced to tears on It Takes Two as she was reminded over her Strictly Come Dancing journey. The former Coronation Street actress and Hear'Say singer was given the chance to chat about her elimination from the BBC One dance contest for the first time on the programme's spin-off show.
She was joined by partner Graziano Di Prima on the glitzy sofa to chat about their time in the competition after it came to an end during Saturday night's results show. The pair had made a return to the ballroom last Friday night after being forced to miss week ten due to Kym catching Covid.
But they returned with a bang during Musicals Week as they gave it their all with a Fame-inspired Cha Cha to the musical's lead track. Kym, 46, and Graziano, 28, donned sweatbands and leg warmers as they moved and grooved acorss the floor with additional dancers in two.
However, Kym aced Molly Rainford in the dreaded dance-off with both couples having to perform their routines again after the red light of doom landed on them after Friday night's quarter-final. CBBC star Molly and her Strictly dance partner Carlos Gu performed their charleston to Hot Honey Rag from the musical Chicago before Kym and Graziano reprised their cha cha in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.
After their performances, with two votes to Molly and Carlos, and one to Kym and Graziano it meant head judge Shirley Ballas had the casting vote, and she decided to save Molly and Carlos meaning Kym and Graziano were the 10th couple to leave the 20th edition of the dance contest.
There were tears as the pair said their goodbyes and their were tears again as they watched their 'best bits' during their last appearance on It Takes Two. As Kym wiped away tears, her Italian dance partner confessed: "I've been waiting for a really good season on Strictly for four years. It sounds really crazy but I had the best time and it's because of her. He added: "It's been the most amazing journey ever."
As their Strictly journey played out in front of them, Kym, with a tissue in her hand, and Graziano watched intently as they got emotional over their time together. But it's not the end as Rylan spoke about how genuine their friendship is. She replied: "Absolutely, he's coming to stay with us tonight, we're going to have some family time."
She then added: "Honestly, I really have genuinely met a very unique person, you're a very special man and I will never ever forget what you've done for me on this journey. It's been incredible."
Graziano then interjected: "Can I just say one thing," Graziano added. "I have been waiting for a really good season of Strictly for four years. And it sounds really crazy but I had the best time and it is because of her. So if I think back, it has been the most amazing journey ever because I found a friend for life and just because of her."
