Kylie pays beautiful tribute Olivia Newton John: 'I will always look up to her'

Kylie Minogue has joined the floods of tributes and condolences for Olivia Newton John. . The Grease star passed away peacefully at her home in southern California on Monday, August 8.

The singer-songwriter and activist was surrounded by family and friends when she passed, her husband has shared in a statement. Many who have worked with the star have paid heartwarming tributes, including Greece co-star John Travolta — you can read his words here.

Fellow Aussie singer-songwriter and actress Kylie Minogue has also shared some words in memory of Olivia, stating she will always love and look up to her. Alongside a post on Instagram, featuring a photo of a young Olivia and Kylie, she wrote: "Since I was ten years old, I have loved and looked up to Olivia Newton John. And, I always will. (Just like this picture @nfsaonline) She was, and always will be, an inspiration to me in so many, many ways. My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. x ONJ4EVER"

Olivia's husband John Easterling, who she married in 2008, said: "We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time. Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund (ONJFoundationFund.org).

"Olivia is survived by her husband John Easterling; daughter Chloe Lattanzi; sister Sarah Newton-John; brother Toby Newton-John; nieces and nephews Tottie, Fiona and Brett Goldsmith; Emerson, Charlie, Zac, Jeremy, Randall, and Pierz Newton-John; Jude Newton-Stock, Layla Lee; Kira and Tasha Edelstein; and Brin and Valerie Hall."

Olivia, who played Sandy in the hit musical movie Grease, had been battling breast cancer for 30 years. The star also enjoyed a successful music career with hits such as If Not For You, and Let Me Be There.
