Kylie Minogue is the latest celebrity to sign-up to read for CBeebies Bedtime Story.
The Australian singer, 56, will be gracing screens on October 18 at 6.50pm on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer to read the timeless classic Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd.
It’s a bedtime story which has lulled generations of children to sleep and tells the story of a little bunny tucked up snuggly and safely in bed and who is getting ready to say goodnight to all the familiar things in their room, one by one.
Kylie said of her involvement: “It was a real pleasure to read Goodnight Moon as my first CBeebies Bedtime Story.
“Just like the bunny in the book who says ‘goodnight’ to all the familiar things in their room, I like to say ‘thank you’ to rooms that I’ve been in just as I leave. Sweet dreams!”
This will mark the first of two appearances for Kylie. Details of her second story are yet to be revealed.
The Grammy Award-winning star is not the first big name to appear on CBeebies Bedtime Stories, she joins the likes of the Duchess of Cambridge, Elton John, Dolly Parton, Harry Styles and Tom Hardy to name a few.
Former Strictly champ and EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis was also the first ever person to read their story in British Sign Language.
A digital library of over 300 archived episodes is available on BBC iPlayer CBeebies channel.
This is not the first time that Kylie has helped to encourage younger peoples love of sharing stories.
Earlier this year, she teamed up with her younger sister Dannii, 52, and cartoon siblings Bluey and Bingo to launch new digital series Bluey Book Reads.
They along with other celebrities including Bindi Irwin, Tom Daley, Romesh Ranganathan, Suranne Jones, Jenna Fischer, Eva Mendes, Jordan Fisher, Camille Cottin and Rob Delaney brought to life many of the Bluey storybooks based on the hit cartoon series.
The Minogue sisters delivered a dual read of the book Mini Bluey, with Kylie starring as Bluey and Dannii as Bingo in a heart-warming tale of self-discovery and sisterly love that sees Bluey hatch a plan to make her and Bingo more alike after their dad Bandit whinges that Bluey and Bingo are too different.
“Bluey is an Aussie icon so when I was asked if I’d like to read Mini Bluey with my sister, it was an easy YES! This episode, 'Mini Bluey' was perfect for us for obvious reasons: big sister and little sister!” she enthused.
