France superstar Kylian Mbappe wanted PSG to sign Marcus Rashford this summer, according to reports.
Speculation over Manchester United forward Rashford gathered pace after the club and player endured a difficult season where they finished in sixth place and missed out on Champions League qualification. Rashford found the net only six times in all competitions, meanwhile, but has since returned to form.
However, while there were question marks over his future, Mbappe nudged the PSG board - it has been claimed - to see if they could sign the England international. Reports from RMC Sport claim Mbappe wanted to see Rashford added to a four-man shortlist that also included Poland captain Robert Lewandowski.

As things turned out, Rashford stayed put and has since burst into life under Erik ten Hag as Lewandowski continues to shine following his summer switch to Barcelona from Bayern Munich. Rashford to PSG has done the rounds for several years dating back to when Thomas Tuchel was manager. Mbappe is also understood to have wanted Ousmane Dembele and Gianluca Scamacca.
Elsewhere, reports suggest Chelsea are set to enter the race for United target Jordan Pickford amid heavy interest in the Everton goalkeeper. Pickford, 28, has been earmarked as a potential successor to David de Gea should United seek an upgrade in that department next season.
However, they might have their work cut out to sign the England No.1. As per The Express, Chelsea also want Pickford - despite them having Edouard Mendy at their disposal and only signing him two years ago to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga.
